61. Carol Newell

When things were at their worst, Carol was producing mics by water fountains. For a good stretch, she was a lifeline for stage time for the comedians who decided to weather the storm.

80. Gary Cannon

I mean, fine. He was the warm-up comic for Conan, Dr. Phil, and a bunch of other shows they never put him on camera for which is why I’m giving him the Ian Ira Rousso stamp approval. He’s funny which is why you should have him on all your shows.

79. Rocky Roberts

Rocky has been promoted to sound guy at The Improv and based on the scrubs in his headshot, also goes out for commercials. I don’t know, but he was making waves on the Improv patio when they were doing that.

78. Ken Garr

He used to host Lab Work. Now he hosts in the main room of my home club the World-Famous Hollywood Improv. He also hosted Write Club during The Pandemic which was when comedians signed into Zoom, ran material and gave each other notes. His notes were whatever, but his heart was in the right place. I wish he would update his headshot cause I see a promising future for his young rising comic.

Flappers University Director, Paul Moomjean really is one of the funniest in the biz. Good guy to know. He will make you laugh.

74. Zach Stein

One time, Zach Stein walked up to me after a mic and bragged that he fucked my crush. I even wasn’t mad at him cause Zach always kills. Book him! Now!

73. Mia Mars

I think Mia for Fresh Faces or New Faces or whatever The Laugh Factory calls it. Whole different world to me. She got it though for a reason. Cause she’s amazing.

72. Leon Walker

Leon Walker is one of my better friends in comedy. He books a show (I think). I know he acts. I haven’t seen any of his body of work but I do know he’s funny.

71. Michael D’Angelo

I wasn’t sure where fellow LA 8 and Hollywood Improv Veteran, Michael D’Angelo, falls on this last, but definitely head of Gary Cannon.

70. Mary Romeo

I haven’t seen Mary Romeo in a while. I think she’s on tour or something. I don’t know. What I do know is she’s definitely funnier than Gary Cannon but not as funny as the next comic on this list.

The other day, the host at the Happy Hour Open Mic at The Improv mispronounced his name. I promise you those days are numbered Herman. Keep grinding!

66. Eric Weilo

He co-hosted the patio mic at The Improv when no one else would. Sometimes he does cold opens in the Main Room. I think he was a writer for Conan. What I do know is he does the road a bunch and I love seeing Eric whenever he’s around.

65. Nate Welch

Nate had a spot on Supernova recently which is really cool. Anthony Jeselnick might have been on that show who would’ve been on this list, but again, too many credits. Nate also co-hosts Comic Wars out in Sylmar and does a fantastic job. Thanks for being great!

63. Kurt Steinmuller

Kurt is one of my favorite people in the world. I’ve given him a lot of rides and there’s a reason for that. Cause he’s smart, vulnerable, a good hang, and above all, really really funny. I’ve seen all of Southern California with him it feels like, from Ventura to Escondido. Catch him in his series titled “Kurt Gone Wild”.
